Company Formation and Growth

I help clients plan and form their companies, build smart growth strategies, and protect their business. Together, we put together strong contracts and a respectful workplace culture so we can minimize the risk of disputes. I draft and negotiate agreements with employees, independent contractors, partners, vendors, and clients.

Employee Career and Contract Guidance

I help employees with important career choices. I guide them through new employment agreements as well as separation agreements and releases, non-competes, non-solicitations and other restrictive covenants. If you are transitioning employment, I can help you protect your rights and your future.

Dispute Avoidance and Resolution

I have 20 years of litigation experience. I work with clients to avoid or amicably resolve disputes whenever possible, including through informal negotiations, mediation, or arbitration. When formal proceedings are necessary, I represent my clients with commitment and passion in state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. I also handle arbitration, mediation, and agency proceedings. I have prosecuted claims for individuals and businesses in state and federal courts, and arbitration. I have also defended challenges to corporate and individual conduct.

I am a proud graduate of The George Washington University Law School (J.D., 1996) and The University of Michigan (B.A., 1991).

I am licensed to practice law in VirginiaMaryland, the District of Columbia, and New Jersey.  I am also admitted to the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia, the District of Maryland, and the District of Columbia, as well as the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
